This head is for fishing open water where snags are not a concern like the sand flats of St. Clair or Erie. Some "experienced" anglers prefer this style over the "Tex-posed" Stoopid insert, because of their ability to finesse the bait over rocks, boulders, and other river type structure and cover and have that exposed hook at the ready for those light biters.
